Pierce, bucking the common beliefs about hospice. Bill’s advanced COPD was taking a toll on him and his family. The length of time a patient remains under hospice care varies greatly. Care is flexible: If a patient’s condition improves and they no longer qualify, they can resume traditional medical services.
