Treasure Coast Hospice can offer you and your loved ones the opportunity to live life to its fullest. “Hospice services gave me the confidence to live a normal life,” said Bill Furst of Ft. Pierce, bucking the common beliefs about hospice. Bill’s advanced COPD was taking a toll on him and his family. When they chose to call hospice, they were surprised and pleased to get the help they needed — in care that felt more like extended family than medical staff. “They aren’t strangers,” Bill Furst said. Treasure Coast Hospice’s team of physicians, nurses, hospice aides, counselors, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers offer support and care that enable the patient to live as normal a life as possible. “They are like family when they come into your home,” Furst continued. Their expertise in pain management and other therapies offer a renewed quality of life that provides the patient and their loved ones with greater joy and fulfillment in their time together. Furst was in Treasure Coast Hospice care for eight months before passing peacefully at home. The length of time a patient remains under hospice care varies greatly. Care is flexible: If a patient’s condition improves and they no longer qualify, they can resume traditional medical services. Most important, Treasure Coast Hospice aims to improve the quality of life for each patient. Patients and families benefit most when they engage hospice as soon as possible so that every day is an opportunity to live. That’s been our commitment for more than 30 years. Did you know… Our care teams surround the whole family with support. With coverage under Medicare and most insurance plans, Treasure Coast Hospice continues to support richer and more confident lives for our patients and their families. Through the generosity of our community, our services are available to anyone who needs them, regardless of ability to pay.
