Tampa General Hospital provides an array of physical medicine and rehabilitation options for patients with functional limitations caused by injuries and acquired and congenital conditions. Our center has 59 beds to serve patients in a comprehensive, inpatient setting, and also offers a variety of outpatient programs, such as physical, occupational, and speech therapies.
Our wide range of capabilities and excellent results have resulted in three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for both our adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilitation programs. We are also designated as a provider of rehabilitation services by the Florida State Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program (BSCIP) and recognized as a magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
TGH Rehabilitation Center’s team – which includes physicians, psychologists, nurses, radiologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, and many others – aims to foster an improved quality of life for all of our patients. We strive to help people with functional limitations, as well as their caregivers, to understand and find workarounds for activity and participation limitations. Our care spans a continuum of physical medicine and rehabilitation options, including specialized programs for patients who have experienced a stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, and burns, as well as those with chronic pain and/or migraines. We also have a dedicated pediatric rehabilitation program designed to serve children and teenagers.
As part of the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, we can provide everything from emergency hospitalization and treatment to outpatient therapies – all in the same medical complex.
