  3. Hospice House

Hospice House was constructed as a 16-bed inpatient facility on five acres west of Hwy 491 in Lecanto. The Hospice House is a place of dignity, comfort and peace. Private patient rooms provide a place for families to spend quality time with their loved ones in a peaceful setting with natural light. When a patient is appropriate for hospice care and has symptoms that can be addressed in an acute care setting, inpatient hospice care may be appropriate. Our 16-bed Hospice House provides care for patients in the final stages of terminal illness. Private patient rooms provide a place for families to spend quality time with their loved ones in a peaceful setting. The Living Room has vaulted ceilings and cozy fireplace. The Family Room provides a place to relax, play a board game, watch tv, utilize the Internet or simply take a break. To the right of the Living Room is a Chapel, it offers patients/families and visitors a place for quiet reflection and prayer. Outside is a Memorial Gazebo, Memory Gardens and a Children’s Remembrance Garden. Since 1985, when Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast served its first patient, board members and staff realized that without a home-like facility, access to hospice services for county residents would be limited to those patients at home who had a spouse, adult child, or other relative available 24-hours a day to assist with care. 2005,

The Family Room provides a place to relax, play a board game, watch TV, utilize the internet or simply take a break. Comfortable furniture, vaulted ceilings and a cozy fireplace adorn the Hospice House living room. An on-site chapel offers patients and families a place for quiet reflection and prayer. Specialized meals and snacks are prepared upon request by trained kitchen staff and volunteers. The Memorial Gazebo and Memory Gardens provide places for quiet reflection. The Children’s Remembrance Garden is a community project which honors children who have left our world too soon. The Hospice House Team includes dedicated physicians, registered nurses, nursing assistants, chaplains, socialworkers and volunteers on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
