  3. Hospice Care Center of Citrus County

Hospice Care Center of Citrus County began accepting patients in August 2014. Like HPH Hospice’s four other Hospice Care Centers, the Lecanto facility is a home away from home for terminally ill individuals who need short-term, round-the-clock care due to a variety of acute medical needs. Care at these facilities focus on relief of pain and acute symptom management. Imagine a quiet, homelike setting where you and your loved ones receive the care and attention you deserve. All of our HPH Hospice Care Centers are beautiful, but it’s what’s on the inside that matters most. Our experienced, compassionate staff is committed to giving you the best hospice experience and making you part of our family. Individuals who have a terminal illness and need short-term, specialized, round-the-clock care are appropriate. Most have uncontrolled pain, respiratory distress, nausea, seizures or other complicated symptoms that we can manage. Patients who’ve been discharged from the hospital sometimes go to an HPH Hospice Care Center before returning home. This way, we can make sure that the medications are just right and there’s a customized hospice treatment plan in place. Expect to be treated with dignity and respect while knowing that we’re by your side to discuss needs and concerns. Our staff-to-patient ratio is purposely high so we can offer quality, individual attention. Hospice physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, and clergy staff the Hospice Care Centers and volunteers provide much-needed support. Patient and family education is very important. Your personal physician can continue to care for you at our facilities. HPH Hospice Care Centers are welcoming and relaxing. Each suite has wall to wall carpeting, lovely furnishings and a dedicated phone line. Most suites have a private bath and French doors leading outside. Loved ones are welcome to stay overnight. Our Hospice Care Centers are safe, secure, open 24/7, and children and pet friendly. Light meals are provided for family members and there’s free internet access. Bring a few things from home like photos and a favorite comforter to make the suite extra cozy. During your stay, your illness may get worse. When this occurs, our HPH clinical team can continue to care for you right where you are. We’ll also work closely with your personal physician or one of our HPH doctors to make sure that you’re always comfortable and that your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. We consider patient and family education an important part of everything we do.
