Brookdale Home Health Ocala provides home care in your home or in any senior living community, medical and non-medical home care are options that provide a wide array of features and services. The goal of these services is to help seniors receive the care they need in the setting of their choice while providing the senior and their family with realistic and safe options. The terms for these services can be confusing because the same words are used for different services. Basically these services can be broken down into two categories: Medicare Certified Home Health: skilled services requiring a physician's orders, which are generally short term when there has been a change in a medical condition; Home Care: ongoing care known as "private duty care" ranging from nursing services; to support with day to day needs like dressing, bathing, and home chores; and, companionship.Home Health care enables people to remain in their homes longer and maintain their independence. These services are wide ranging and include such activities as assistance with balance, safety, endurance, bathing, dressing, simple wound care, medication review and monitoring and chronic disease education and monitoring.Home Health is sometimes necessary after one has been released from the hospital or is recovering from an illness. Additionally, a patient may need Home Health if they are experiencing a decline in abilities which makes being in their home environment unsafe or difficult. The Brookdale Home Health group can provide these services with a doctor's order in either a private home or in a resident's Brookdale apartment. There are some qualifications for any person to receive Home Health services but the goal is to help assure the patient's safety within their home, through nursing management, therapy intervention, and safety training and education. Once a patient is no longer confined to their home and is safe, outpatient therapy can be an en effective follow up to home healthcare services. This type of Home Health is covered by Medicare A.
